JSON Schemas
Machine-readable JSON Schema definitions for Chroma core config and manifest files.
Chroma core artifacts (chroma.json, chroma.plugin.json, chroma-fs.json, the vendored engine pkg/package.json, and the CLI-generated jsconfig.json) are described as JSON Schema draft 2020-12 files under /schemas/chroma/. Each schema includes $id, title, and description metadata; companion instance examples live in /schemas/chroma/examples/. Plugin-specific formats (for example routes-manifest.json) are documented separately under /schemas/chroma-plugins/.
| Artifact | Schema | Example |
|---|---|---|
| App manifest | chroma.schema.json | chroma.static-app.json |
| Plugin manifest | chroma.plugin.schema.json | chroma.plugin.style.json |
| Storage config | chroma-fs.schema.json | chroma-fs.indexeddb.json |
Engine pkg/package.json | chroma-pkg.schema.json | Chroma/pkg/package.json |
Editor jsconfig.json | jsconfig.schema.json | Generated by chroma build |
Use these schemas in editors (with a JSON Schema extension), CI validation, or code generators. Schemas are derived from real files in the Chroma/ repo and first-party plugin sources — fields not present in the codebase are intentionally omitted.
